Dynamic Rotating Photo Cube

Rotating Photo Cube

Hello, Everyone! Today's widget is a really nice Rotating Photo Cube from PhotoCube3D. I've seen the photo cubes around the Internet and people are using them for various purposes. One really neat use of this widget is to display book covers. You can use an image of your PDF/e-Book and use the cube on your site as a cool way to feature and draw attention to your book(s).

With this photo cube you can use one to six images (.gif, .jpg, or .png formats). For example, if you want to use only one image you would enter that image in each of the six image upload boxes. Also, if you want to use only two images, you would upload both images three times each, in the image upload boxes.  Again, you may use one to six images whether it's the same image six times, six different images once, or any configeration that totals six images.

Other customizeable features are of this Photo Cube widget are 'Glow', 'Alpha', 'X AutoRotate' and 'Y AutoRotate'.

  • Glow alters the amount of brightness. Also, you can choose a color for the 'glow'.
  • Alpha alters the amount of transparency (the images will be solid or transparent).
  • X AutoRotate rotates this photo cube vertically (around an invisible x-axis/horizontal axis).  Also, you may enter a number above zero (0) to increase the rotation speed. If you do not want the cube to rotate in this direction, un-check/de-select the X AutoRotate box.
  • Y AutoRotate rotates this photo cube horizontally (rotates around an invisible y-axis/vertical axis).  Also, you may enter a number above zero (0) to increase the rotation speed. If you do not want the cube to rotate in this direction, un-check/de-select the Y AutoRotate box.

Lastly, you may move your mouse pointer over the cube to alter its movement.  I hope you enjoy using this widget!  I think it is a simply delightful bit of technology!

This is what the cube looks like before images are added to it:

This is what the cube looks like with six different images and a hot pink 'Glow' color:

This is another cube with six different images:

The following cube has the same images as the one immediately above it. However, this cube has 'Alpha' selected/activated so that the images appear transparent.

The following cube is an example of the same cube above, with 'X AutoRotate' un-checked/de-selected.

Nokia N810 wimaxRemember the rumor we saw floating about a few weeks ago about a Nokia N810 refresh? Well, the lads at The Boy Genius Report are reporting -- on a rumor mind you -- that Nokia is set to launch its N810 refresh with WiMAX at CTIA in April this year. Interestingly, the name will remain the same, and not be labeled the Nokia N830 as wed first thought.

Yeah, its only a rumor at this point, but were thinking that giving this radio-less internet appliance a bit more reach is nothing but a good thing.

Olympus E 3

The magnesium alloy body is as solidly made as ever, and now its dust, weather and splash proof, as well. At a shade less than 2 pounds, the body weighs about as much as its midrange dSLR classmates, with similar dimensions as well. Its quite comfortable to hold, with a deep rubber grip. Like all of its competitors, the E-3 supplies the requisite front and back dials, status LCD, and plethora of direct access controls. (For more details on the body design, see the E-3 slide show.)

While shooting, the layout feels logical enough, though some of the multi button plus dial combos feel a tad old fashioned. If you want, you can bypass most of them by using the so called Super Control Panel, an increasingly popular interface for adjusting most shooting settings from a single screen. The control panel doesnt rotate when shooting vertically, however, the way it does on Sonys dSLRs.

When you cycle through each of the direct access options, they appear in the viewfinder read out even options that dont normally appear there, such as white balance or image stabilization mode which is a very nice touch. The viewfinder, too, is great large with 1.1x magnification and 100 percent scene coverage.

Combined with the 4 : 3 aspect ratio native to the Four Thirds standard of the sensor and lenses (for a 2x focal length multiplier) and its big, comfortable eyecup, the viewfinder provides the same shooting feel as a far more expensive full frame camera. On the other hand, when operating at ISO 2,000 or higher, the display blinks continuously, which can get quite annoying. In addition to the viewfinder, Olympus includes Live View mode a feature it pioneered in conjunction with Panasonic for framing via the LCD.

Though it still requires a mirror flip up for pre-focus like most of its competitors, which can slow Live View shooting considerably, the E-3 provides a couple of helpful features. For one, its flip and twist LCD makes Live View useful in situations where a fixed LCD cant cut it (such as this shot).

For another, it lets you preview the effect of the image stabilizer. (The inability to see the stabilized image remains the one advantage of optical implementations over to sensor shift.) But at 2.5 inches, the LCD is also kind of small, and not quite high resolution enough for precise manual focus.

Rollable keyboard exudes simplicity

Rollable flex keyboardThere are plenty of outfits out there looking to snap up your loose change in exchange for a pre-built rollup keyboard, but if you just cant stand that board that came bundled in with your last pre-fab PC, we think theres a better alternative. Apparently, all you have to do is remove the inner membrane from an unwanted set of keys, make sure the control board is accurately reassembled onto said membrane and cut out letters in the font of your choosing to keep you on track when your touch typing skills begin to fade.

Thats it -- an über-painless, amazingly easy and absolutely inelegant method of crafting your own rollable keyboard.

Amazon MP3 store to spread DRM free love global in 2008

Amazon mp3 music downloadIn perhaps the biggest threat to Apples global dominance of digital music, Amazon just announced the international rollout of Amazon MP3. Right, the on-line storefront offering DRM-free music from all four major labels. Thats 3.3 million songs (priced at $0.99 or less) from over 270k artists encoded in 256kbps MP3 files for playback on any PC, any Mac, and pretty much any portable device you might own. Sure, its beta but so is that Gmail account youve been using for the past 4 years.

Unfortunately, the best that Amazon can commit to is "this year" which leaves plenty of time for the house of Apple to get their DRM shiznit together.

Cara Membaca Pesan BBM Tanpa Kirim Notifikasi ke Si Pengirim Pesan

Tips BlackBerry Messenger | BBM | Bes | Bis | BlackBerry | Guide | Internet | Notifikasi | Service | Tips pesan blackberry

- Bukalah App BBM Anda

- Setelah masuk dan terlihat list contact Anda, tekan tombol menu

- Pilih option, carilah "save chat history", lalu ganti "never" menjadi Device atau Mediacard. Saran saja, sebaiknya pilih Media Card. Lalu tekan tombol back

Panasonic TC P54V10

The same basic story stays true for the TC-PV10 series, but its even better than the G10. This Panasonic plasma has the same deep blacks that grace its less expensive little brother, and adds a couple of key improvements: better video processing to handle 1080p/24 sources, and more picture adjustments that allow it to transcend the limitations of THX mode. Its picture should satisfy all but the pickiest of videophiles, and it also outperforms any LCD based display, LED or otherwise, weve ever tested.

Beyond image quality, the V10 delivers plenty of features and an eye catching one sheet of glass design, for a combination that deserves serious consideration from buyers willing to pay for it. The 50 inch Panasonic TC-P50V10, but this review also applies to the 54 inch Panasonic TC-P54V10. The two sizes share identical specs and should have very similar picture quality.

The Panasonic TC-PV10 series also includes 58 and 65 inch models, but we will review those larger sizes separately when review samples are available later in 2009. Panasonic TC-PV10 is one sleek plasma. Its main external differentiator is what the company calls "one sheet of glass" design, where a pane of glass extends beyond the edge of the screen and over the bezel itself, leading to a seamless look thats even more impressive in person than in pictures.

(Its worth noting that only the 50 and 54 inch models feature the one sheet design the larger members of the series have the more traditional, visually separate bezel around the screen). The V10 series eschews the relatively bright silver fade along the bottom of the frame seen on the companys step down TC-PG10 models, instead opting for a much subtler silver accent that arcs slightly upward in the middle.

We think the V10 looks more attractive and sophisticated than the G10, and indeed its one of the coolest looking TV designs weve seen this year. As Panasonics nearly top of the line plasma series, excepting the Z1, the V10 models offer a couple of extras. One is the ability to refresh the screen at 96Hz, which allows the TV to properly maintain the cadence of film when fed a 1080p/24 source typically from a Blu-ray player (the refresh rate remains fixed at the standard 60Hz for non-1080p/24 sources).

The V10 also has a 48Hz setting, but we recommend using 96Hz instead since the 48Hz option can introduce flicker. (Heres where we mention that, like all Panasonic plasmas, the V10s spec sheet includes mention of a 600Hz subfield drive. Our best advice is to ignore this spec it has no visible bearing on picture quality, aside from a slight improvement in motion resolution thats extremely difficult to see.)

Get up and Running with Cassandra on Google Compute Engine

Recently, Eric Johnson released a guide to setting up a Cassandra cluster on Google Compute Engine. Cassandra is a NoSQL database that is designed around distributed principles. By distributing data across multiple nodes, your cluster becomes resilient to individual node failure, and scaling up your cluster is as trivial as adding new nodes.

The guide walks you through creating your nodes (instances), setting up Java, and creating and configuring a firewall. Included in the guide are several scripts that make the configuration and setup easy to understand and execute. Once you are finished with your cluster, a simple call to a teardown script cleans up your project’s environment.

Depending on your system requirements, you will want to make some adjustments to the setup in the guide. For instance, you should modify the global configuration file to meet the needs of your system. Cassandra runs best with plenty of CPU and memory, so you will likely want to choose one of our higher power instance types. You should also adjust the number of overall nodes and nodes per zone to match your requirements. Lastly, best practices highly recommend that you use persistent disks for your cluster.

Many of the core features of Google Compute Engine match up well with the requirements of a distributed database like Cassandra. Distributing instances across zones protects against individual node and zone failures. Using the metadata server means that your nodes can configure themselves, and a change to the configuration file can propagate easily to existing nodes. Consistent, fast disk I/O means that you can rely upon quick queries and reliable write throughput.

For more information about Cassandra, to download, or to contribute, visit the database’s site. Hear from experts about different approaches to distributed databases by watching the Google I/O industry panel.

The New Google Mobile Community

If youve been following this blog at all, its probably pretty clear that were passionate about mobile technology. And if you have really been following this blog, it probably means that you are passionate about mobile technology too. Well, weve created a place for you to connect with other mobile enthusiasts: the new Google Mobile Community.

We envision this community as being a place where you can discuss the world of mobile in general -- like cool new applications youve discovered or what you wish your phone could do. Or maybe youre looking to buy a new phone, and youre not sure which one to pick. Ask the group.

We also want the community to be a place where you can tell us what you think about our very own products. Sometimes well throw out a question about our products that only you have the answers to, such as why you use (or dont use) a certain feature. So keep an eye out for posts where were asking for your feedback -- like this one. But also feel free to give us unsolicited feedback. What do you like about our mobile products? What dont you like? Are there features or products you would like to see? Be honest. We can take it.

Theres really no limit to the discussion, with one small caveat: if you are trying to troubleshoot a specific technical issue with a particular Google product, check out our general Google Mobile Help Group or our more specific Maps and Gmail for mobile groups -- those are the places to ask technical questions. Search the group or post questions to find answers from other users about Google mobile products.

So come join the community... Were excited to hear from you!

New MMA compliant mobile image ads

Back in April, we launched our mobile image ads based on the recommended guidelines of the Mobile Marketing Association (MMA). At about the same time, the MMA published its new mobile advertising guidelines. The new guidelines set forth suggested sizes for image ads that were different from its previous guidelines, so our image ad sizes were not in line with the new recommendations.

Were delighted to announce that our mobile image ads are now MMA-compliant. Google mobile image ads now come in six sizes -- three sizes for each of two different aspect ratios: 6x1 and 4x1. Weve also increased our file size allowances so you can do even more with your advertising creatives. Watch the video below to see a comparison of the old and new image ad sizes.

We think that working with industry standards like those proposed by the MMA will help us create the best experience for our advertisers and users. We will continue to work with the MMA to ensure consistency between our formats and future guidelines.

And dont worry, if you have an ad in an old format thats already uploaded to your account, it will continue to run. From here on out, though, well be accepting uploads only in the MMA-compliant formats. To take a look at our new offering, refer to our mobile image ads example page. You can also get a refresher on our mobile image ads policies.

Google Search results optimized for feature phones in Arabic and Hebrew 40 languages now supported

Forty-language support is an important milestone for a product at Google. We are very excited that by adding support for Hebrew and Arabic, our new optimized mobile Search experience is now available in 40 languages for feature phones.

We launched in 38 left-to-right languages in July, bringing the comprehensiveness of Googles web search to mobile users around the world. Now Arabic and Hebrew speakers will also be able to benefit from universal search results on their mobile devices.

As a reminder, the new search results format provides more complete support for the universal search results youre familiar with on your computer. This means that News, Image, Blog, Video and Product Search results blend right into your results pages when available and relevant to your query. Also, many of your favorite Google Search features now appear in the first result in order to provide direct answers to your searches.

Edward Snowden nominated for Nobel Peace Prize

A former Norwegian minister nominated fugitive US intelligence leaker Edward Snowden for the Nobel Peace Prize Wednesday in a letter to the Norwegian Nobel Committee.

"He has contributed to revealing the extreme level of surveillance by nations against other nations and of citizens," former Socialist Left Party minister Baard Vegar Solhjell told AFP, explaining his move.

"Snowden contributed to people knowing about what has happened and spurring public debate" on trust in government, which he said was "a fundamental requirement for peace".

(Also see: Who is Edward Snowden?)

In a letter to the Norwegian Nobel Committee obtained by AFP, Solhjell and his party colleague Snorre Valen said that they do not necessarily condone or support all of Snowdens disclosures, but praised him for revealing the "nature and technological prowess of modern

"The level of sophistication and depth of surveillance that citizens all over the world are subject to have stunned us, and stirred debate," they wrote in the nomination letter.

They added that Snowdens actions have "led to the reintroduction of trust and transparency as a leading principle in global security policies".

US National Security Agency (NSA) documents leaked by Snowden in 2013 revealed widespread surveillance of individuals and institutions in the United States and around the world.

According to the whistleblowing website Wikileaks, Snowden, who is currently living in Russia, applied for asylum in several countries, including Norway, last summer.

Solhjell, who was environment minister until Norways left-wing government lost power last year, told AFP that he was aware of Snowdens reported request for asylum and that it should be handled according to normal procedures.

"This matter has not affected our decision to nominate Snowden for the peace prize," Solhjell said.

The deadline for submitting nominations for the 2014 peace prize is February 1.

Among those elgible to forward nominations are politicians and barristers around the world, as well as university professors from certain disciplines.

In July 2013 a Swedish sociology professor, Stefan Svallfors, nominated Snowden for the Nobel Peace Prize after the deadline had passed but the nomination is still valid for 2014.

Intex launches new Aqua Octa smartphone with the worlds first true Octa Core chipset

Indian handset manufacturer Intex has launched its first true octa-core powered handset on Thursday. The Intex Aqua Octa is powered by the MediaTek MT6592*, which is the worlds first true octa-core chip that allows all 8 cores to be active at the same time. Besides having the 1.7GHz MT6592 under the hood, we should tell you that the phone is equipped with a 6 inch screen, putting it squarely in the phablet category. The screen offers a resolution of 720 x 1280.

On board the Aqua Octa, you will find 2GB of RAM, and 16GB of native storage which can be expanded by using the 32GB capacity microSD slot. The back and front-facing snappers weigh in at 13MP and 5MP respectively, and a 2300mAh battery keeps the lights on. Android 4.2.2 is pre-installed. The device offers 3G connectivity. We really see no chance of this model hitting the U.S. as the lack of support for LTE should keep it out of the states.

While the phone is offered by the manufacturer in both black and white, Indian retailer Snapdeal only has the black model. It is offering the phone for 19,999 INR ($321 USD) and is throwing in an Intex Power Bank 3000mAh and a Craggy headphone if the phone is ordered before January 8th. The freebies have a value of 3900 INR ($63 USD). The Power Bank is a small portable charger that should more than double the battery life of your Aqua Octa.PhoneArena

Tecno S7 Smartphone Now Available Comes With Following Specs and Features

Its being weeks that we got the information that Tecno is about to release the next version of their "S" low end smartphone - Tecno S7, the one to succeed the S5.

Well, the wait is over and Tecno Mobile have finally released Tecno S7 android smartphone to the market.

The specifications and features of the newly released phone did not deviate from the rumored spec we heard  which may be a sort of disappointment for some. However it may be, we will still list the specifications below for your consumption and to clear all doubts.

Network and SIM
Tecno S7 comes with a dual mini SIM with dual standby which is not a new thing though as Nigerians are already accustomed to dual SIM phones.

This time around, the SIM would be placed one above the other with SIM 1 below and SIM 2 above just as depicted in the image below.

As far as network connection is concerned, the S7 has the usual 2G, 3G and 3.75G network connection and can also exchange data at a high speed of 27mbps.

Tecno S7 has its Network band as GSM900/DSC1800/WCDMA2100MHZ and dimensions of the smartphone is 146.5*75.6*10.6 mm.

Display and Resolution
The Tecno S7 comes with a 5.0 inch TFT FWVGA display with resolution of 480 * 854 which gives you a pixel density of 195.93PPI. This may not go well for some folks but hey! its a low end smartphone.

Processor and RAM
Tecno S7 comes with a dual core 1.3GHz MediaTek MT6572 processor which runs the software on the device. The area that is really going to piss people off is the area of RAM.

It is believed that Tecno shouldnt be doing any 512MB RAM smartphone as of 2014. Alas, Tecno S7 comes with 512MB of RAM.

This is not the only Chinese company with a RAM of 512mb. Others like Gionee P3 and some Micromax devices comes with 512MB. However, to be above these upcoming devices trying to take market share from Tecno in Nigeria, it would have been better if all their low end device now come shipped with 1GB RAM and their high end device comes with 2GB RAM minimum. That is what competition is all about.

Operating System and Memory
Tecno S7 comes with Android Jelly Bean 4.2.2 which is near the stock Android version. As it stands, we still dont know when Tecno will step up their game and start bringing devices with at least 4.3 Android Jelly Bean.

As far as memory goes, the internal memory of the S7 is 4GB while a memory expansion slot already carrying 8GB SD Card is provided in the device. The memory card can be expanded to 32GB if you please.

Camera
Tecno S7 comes with 5.0MP AF back camera with flash while the front camera comes with 1.3MP camera.

Connectivity and Battery
The usual suspects when it comes to connectivity are GPS, WiFi, Bluetooth, 3.5mm Earphone and that is what you would find on the Tecno S7.

Battery powering the S7 is a Li-ion battery with power 2000mAh with 3.7V emanating from the device at any point in time.

According to Tecno, talk time on the device stands at 6.5hrs with 200hrs of standby time. Daily and real life usage will test the dependability of the battery.

Sensors, Messaging and SNS
With sensors, we were not really expecting anything grand aside what we  were already used to. The Tecno S7 comes with Gyro, Light and Proximity sensors.

For messaging and SNS, Gmail, Palmchat and Facebook are pre-installed on the device. Also, Twitter, Operamini, Whatsapp and other apps come bundled with the smartphone. BBM isnt preinstalled so you would have to download that by yourself.

Other apps in stored on the phone but not installed include Camera360, Power Saving, Quick Office, Holy Bile, Quran, Angry Birds, Moboplayer, Fruit Ninja Free, Google+, Light Wallpaper, English-Dictionary, Espn Score Centre, Yahoo Messenger, Twitter, UC Browser, CamCard, Peacefmonline, Adobe Flashplayer, VIBER, Shazam, Linkedin, 2go, Spinlet, Skynews /Yahoo News,Instagram

The price for this Tecno S7 is N23,000 from Divine Anyi Communications, Zenco Plaza computer village, Ikeja, Lagos.
Other stores dont have it yet and the one we saw that now have it is selling for N24,000. Consequently, if you are thinking of getting this device, you should go to the store with the cheaper price. You can call this number 08060791362 to get yours.

Is the Tecno S7 a good phone looking at the specifications? You should be the judge of that. Drop your thoughts in the comment section.

Samsungs 2014 flagship phones will include 16 megapixel ISOCELL sensors

Korean media was reporting yesterday that Samsung has ordered more than 180 million 16 MP sensors for its flagship handsets next year, and thanks to the analyst event yesterday we can chalk this one up to the semi-confirmed rumors.

One of Samsungs presentation slides had a new 16 MP ISOCELL sensor listed that we didnt previously know about. When it announced the ISOCELL tech with superior low-light abilities, Samsung only mentioned an 8 MP unit is in the works, but the influx of 13 MP and even 20 MP or 40 MP phones, has apparently upped the resolution ante for it.

Unfortunately, the sensor will still be with a typical mobile phone size, judging from the listed 1.12 micron pixels, so we wouldnt expect the utmost quality from it, not to mention there wasnt anything about an OIS module around it, but the slide was about the sensor tech, not the whole camera module, so heres to hoping. How To Get Substitute Credit Card Number For Certain Online Activities

There are so many online activities that require one to enter personal credit card details before one can register or try out a certain service.

The thing is putting up credit card information into these websites may and may not cause harm. Some websites even want you to  put in Credit Card information before you can sign up even when money is not going to be actually deducted.

Therefore, there is a need for a make-believe Credit Card Numbers just to  bypass this need by the website. This being said, it is also better to be cautious not to fall victim for a non-trusting website that may use  the Credit Card information to defraud.

Well, the trouble is already sorted with this application called GetCreditCardNumbers.

GetCreditCardNumbers come to the rescue by generating fake Credit Card number that are identical to the real thing in terms of expiry date, card type etc.

Honestly, this is a good way to avoid being a victim of Credit Card theft by one ridiculous website as you can now easily generate a fake Credit Card to use.

The numbers are still fake though, meaning that no account or money is tied to the numbers. This means that if the target website go ahead to verify the card, it would come back empty and therefore null & void. However, the good part is that it helps to reduce card fraud in a way and can be downloaded on your Android phone for free.

You can get GetCreditCardNumbers for Android phone from here or head over to their website here to download multiple Credit Card numbers

Samsung Fined 360 000 For Paying Students To Attack HTC Smartphones

Samsung team in Taiwan was fined a total sum of $340,000 by the FTC for bribing students in Taiwan to speak negatively against HTC phones in forums and group discussions.

According to FTC, Samsung Taiwan was charged with engaging in unfair trade rules by campaigning against a competing company, HTC in online forums and review sites.

Samsungs Taiwanese team admitted to the charge and that they started the bribing of students April 2013 so that they can give bad comments about HTC products and to praise Samsung phones.
Two other smaller companies were also charged in the case and they were asked to pay $100,000 each for their involvement in the scam.

We know that there is serious competition in the smartphone industry but this action by Samsung Taiwan is actually taking things too far.

This isn’t the first time Samsung has been in trouble with the FTC. Earlier this year, the company was fined for misleading advertising for its claims about camera features on a Galaxy smartphone in Taiwan. One of its marketing partners has also admitted to bribing developers to promote Samsung devices on popular forums.

HTC has long been struggling to compete against Samsung’s flagship devices, and even though its more recent handsets have received an abundance of praise for build quality and features, they’re still selling nowhere near as well as the Galaxy S4.

Well, this wont be the last of fines for Samsung if they keep up with such onerous activities.
